Information about tuition costs

Tuition Fees.

The master's degree program "International Social Work" is a consecutive degree program and therefore it is free of charge, i.e. there are no tuition fees.

Students of the FHWS in Würzburg have to pay a semester fee in the framework of enrollment or respectively the re-registration for the coming semester. As of the summer semester 2017, the semester fee amounts to €124,50 per semester and covers:

a) the student services fee (with this money the service package of the student service, e.g. construction and operation of student dormitories, the operation of catering facilities such as canteens, etc. it is paid solidary by all students.)

b) the semester ticket for the local public transport in the city and the vicinity of Würzburg.

Other costs.

Cost that occur in the course of studies in the framework of internships or stays abroad have to be covered by the student. These especially include costs that occur e.g. in the framework of the module 5.2 "Social Work with Refugees and Migrants in the Area of Origin and Transit Countries", that will be realized - insofar possible - in the form of a three week obligatory excursion in a region of origin or transit. In this case, a student contribution of 1,400 euros for the flight, accomodation, etc. must be paid within the first four weeks of arriving in Würzburg. The FHWS makes a contribution to the summer schools as well, and is currently working on obtaining scholarships that could make this cost lower, but it is not guaranteed.

Besides living expenses students that consider to study the entire second semester abroad also have to cover the cost for the flight, cost for accommodation etc. themselves. However, there are no tuition fees at the German Jordanian University Amman.

The faculty always tries to find funding opportunities for the internships as well as for the optional semester abroad in the second semester, however, we cannot guarantee financial support.
