Practice and Internship

Due to changes in Study and Examination Regulations, all students starting the master’s degree programme in 2018 or later are obliged to conduct an internship during their course of studies.

Students are encouraged to gain practical experience in the migrants' countries of origin, transit and destination. It is the aim to transfer the already acquired qualifications and competencies on professional Social Work into practice contexts and to process challenges and issues in relevant settings by deepening knowledge on tasks, basics, target groups and structures of Social Work institutions.

The modules 6.1 and 6.2 aim at deepening already acquired knowledge in practice fields of Social Work. Students expand their skills and knowledge on tasks, functions, legal frameworks, structures and concepts of Social Work organizations or institutions by conducting a practice project (Module 6.1) and  an internship (Module 6.2) in Germany or abroad:

Every student is responsible her-/himself for finding a placement in Germany or abroad by personal initiative! Please note that FHWS is unable to support you in your search for an internship.

We have compiled the most important information for you here:
1.)    Internships at a Glance
2.)    Detailed Guidelines on Internships
3.)    Application for Approval of Internships

An informational event will be offered during the Summer Semester, in which detailed information as well as regulations and processes will be introduced. We ask all enrolled students to check announcements on MRM-Info and on our website.

If you have questions regarding the internship, please email mrm-pk.fas(ät) .
